Set Up Web Camera on Kiosk

Allow your kiosk to capture photos on sign-in using a web-camera. You must be logged in as an Administrator of the computer system to access these settings.

Photo capture is a great way to give added security to Employees, Service Providers, and Visitors signing in to your location. Before your kiosk will take photos, you will need to allow your internet browser to access the web camera.

Please Note: WhosOnLocation kiosks are not supported for Safari. If you are using an iPad you will need to download the WolKiosk app from the App Store.

Prerequisites

These must be done before you can allow access from the internet browser on your kiosk to your web camera.

Set Up Web Camera

  1. Log in to your kiosk
  2. Select the Settings icon (top right of kiosk screen)
  3. Select Kiosk Settings

  4. Enter the Kiosk PIN
  5. Select Test Webcam

The next steps depend on the browser you are using, they should only need to be completed once. Your internet browser should remember the settings you are about to apply for all future photo capture events. If your history is cleared at any point you may need to re-apply these steps.

Using Chrome

  1. Select the camera icon in the top right corner of the browser url address bar
  2. Select ‘Continue allowing…
  3. Choose your web camera from the dropdown menu

The camera icon will turn orange signaling that the browser is now able to access the web camera to capture photos.

Using Internet Explorer

We will now select the web camera and set the Adobe Flash Player settings to remember these permissions so we do not need to repeat them.

  2. Select the Allow and Remember options
  3. Select the camera icon to choose your web camera
  4. Select the grey Close button in the box
