How To Grant Multi-Tenant Sign In/Out Manager Access

How to grant access to your Sign In/Out Manager to another account. You must have been sent an access request email to grant access.

If a location in your organization shares a building with many other organizations, you may have a shared reception, security, etc. When this happens, all organizations' people traffic can be managed in WhosOnLocation by a Multi-Tenant Sign In/Out Manager.

One organization, who controls the shared reception area, will request access to your location's Sign In/Out Manager in order to manage this on your behalf. When you receive an email asking for access, you simply need to follow the steps to grant Multi-Tenant Sign In/Out Manager access.

Please Note: If you do not yet have a WhosOnLocation account, you will be prompted to create one at the beginning of this process.

Request Email

The first thing that you will receive as a tenant in a Multi-Tenant Sign In/Out Manager setup, is an email requesting permission to access the Sign In/Out Manager for your location. This will include a unique to grant access and a unique link to register an account if required.

Please Note: You will only need to register an account if you are not already part of a WhosOnLocation account. You do not need to be the Account Owner to grant access.

To grant access to your Sign In/Out Manager, click the authorize hyperlink.

To register a new WhosOnLocation account before granting access, click the here hyperlink.

Authorizing Permission

Once you click the link to authorize permission to access your Sign In/Out Manager, you will be taken to WhosOnLocation to complete the authorization. If you are not currently logged into your WhosOnLocation account, you will be taken to the log in screen, then automatically redirected to complete the process.

In WhosOnLocation you will be taken to the Authorize Permission for Multi-Tenant Support screen. This screen is only accessible using the link provided in the email. From here you can view and authorize any requests for access for any locations.

To grant access, click Authorize next to a request, select the location to allow access to, and click Confirm in the confirmation pop-up.

This will authorize the requester to access your Sign In/Out Manager for the specified location and manage your people movements. You can revoke this permission at any time.

Shared Control Tab

You can view who you have granted permission to control your Sign In/Out Manager from the Shared Control tab. To access this tab, log into WhosOnLocation as an Administrator, then:

  1. Go to Tools > Location
  2. Click View next to your location
  3. Select Sign In/Out Manager from the left-hand menu
  4. Select the Multi-Tenant tab
  5. Select the Shared Control sub-tab

Anybody with Administrator access to this location can view any pending or active requests from this view. The information provided is:

Legal Name - The legal name of the organization that has requested access

Location - The name of the location with Multi-Tenant access as setup in the requester's organization

Address - The address of the location with Multi-Tenant access as setup in the requester's organization

Status - The status of the request, either Pending or Active

Revoke Access

You can revoke the access to your Sign In/Out Manager at any time by clicking Revoke next to the permission request. This will remove your location from the requester's account and they will no longer be able to access your Sign In/Out Manager.
