Hardware Options

As we don’t supply hardware, we’ve provided a range of makes and models and provided a list of international and local suppliers. We believe you’ll receive the very best service and support for your hardware directly from the manufacturer or their approved supplier.

Depending on your operational requirements you might need one of the following items of hardware or a mix of them.

Kiosks | Printers & Badges | Scanners | Mobile ComputersAccessories

For many of our customers they prefer to have guests, contractors, suppliers and customers self-sign in and out of locations via a Kiosk - and WhosOnLocation supports this requirement. Additional hardware such as badge printers, barcode or RFID readers, and web cameras can be used to enhance the overall effectiveness of our service.

Desktops and Laptops

Our users have a range of Windows and Mac based setups using the following brands: HP®, Lenovo®, Toshiba®, Dell®, Acer®, Samsung®, Apple® and many others. The best user experience is when the kiosk is Touch Screen. However, we do also support non-touch.

As WhosOnLocation is web based, all the Kiosk has to have is an Operating System and an Internet Browser installed.

What do we recommend? Lenovo ThinkCentre M900z or M910z

Global - Hewlett Packard | Lenovo |Toshiba | Dell | Apple | Acer | Samsung

Tablets and iPads

We support the Windows Surface Pro or Surface 3+ using Internet Explorer in desktop mode or an iPad Air (we support any iPad running iOS 10+) using the WolKiosk app.

You can print from both devices. However, the iPad can only print directly using the WolKiosk app with a Brother QL-720NW or QL-820NWB printer.

As Wi-Fi strength can change or be problematic in some areas, we recommend testing the location intended for an iPad kiosk to ensure a strong Wi-Fi strength is available.

What do we recommend? iPad Air (running iOS 11) or a Windows Surface Pro or Surface 3+

Global - Microsoft | Apple
