What type of barcode is on the pass?
If you add barcodes to your badge pass templates, your visitor or service provider badge passes will include Code-128 1D barcodes.
Code 128 is a very high-density barcode symbology. It is used for alphanumeric or numeric-only barcodes. It can encode all 128 characters of ASCII and, by use of an extension character (FNC4), the Latin-1 characters defined in ISO/IEC 8859-1.
Code 128 is widely used and can be decoded with virtually any barcode reader.
Which printers work with WhosOnLocation?
We currently support both the Dymo 450, 450 Turbo, Brother QL-720NW, QL-820NWB, TEMPbadge BP4 / GoDex DT4 printers.
If you are printing from an iPad using our WolKiosk app then we only support the wi-fi enabled Brother QL-720NW and QL-820NWB printers.
These label printers utilize thermal printing technology and only print in greyscale or black on white.
WhosOnLocation also supports printing to CR80 plastic or pvc card printers, and by default color printing.
What if I need visitor badges that expire?
You can choose to show the time and date of entry on every badge, but we understand that some teams might require a higher level of security.

What is the Meadco Scriptx?
When you normally print from a browser a printer dialog pop up window appears asking you to select your printer and set the print preferences like orientation etc.… This would be cumbersome and not very friendly for receptionists and visitors.
ScriptX is a tool that enables Badge Passes to be automatically printed from WhosOnLocation without the need for the Receptionist to select a printer each time they print a badge or for a visitor to have to select a printer just to get a badge.
Meadco ScriptX is required to be installed on the receptionists’ PC if they are printing passes from a printer installed on their PC. It is also required on Windows kiosks if that kiosk is printing passes.
The only time MeadCo ScriptX is not required is when the kiosk is an iPad. ScriptX is not needed as iPads use shared wi-fi and AirPrint to print and communicate with the printer.
