Changes we’ve made to WolMobile V2

This article provides an overview of the changes to WolMobile V2.

We have two versions of WolMobile in production (V1 and V2) they have many similarities and differences including look and features.

Click here for a guide on migrating from the old version to the new.

The table below details the key differences between V1 and V2:

Feature

V1

V2

Enable WolMobile in your WhosOnLocation account

Only able to be enabled by the Account Owner

  1. Go to Tools > Accounts.
  2. Select Add-on Management from the left-hand menu.
  3. Enable/Disable WolMobile.
  4. Save.

Enabled by Account Owner or IT Support user role type.

  1. Go to Tools > Accounts.
  2. Select Integrations from the left-hand menu.
  3. Enable/Disable WolMobile.

Signing in /out settings

Instead of applying this separately for employees at a location and Service Providers, you now enable this for both employees and Service Providers for each location.

We have also removed the option to only allow sign in for select Service Providers to streamline set up.

Geolocation settings

  1. Turned off - GeoLocation would not send or be asked for.
  2. Ask to send the GeoLocation - when a user signed in/out WolMobile would prompt them to provide their GeoLocation for reports.
  3. Auto send the GeoLocation - when a user signed in/out their GeoLocation would be reported on.
  4. Auto enable “Follow my GeoLocation” - when a user signed in their GeoLocation would be constantly reported on until they signed out.

You could also select groups to apply these settings to at each location.

A user’s location will always be reported on when they sign in/out and you can turn on/off auto-following. If turned off a user will have the option to turn on auto-following when they are signed in.

The option selected for employees and Service Providers will apply to everyone of that user type signing in at the location.

Push Notifications

We have introduced a new type of Push notifications Instant Messages. This can be used to send WolMobile users instant messages. They can also receive arrival notifications for visitors and service providers.

Click here for more information on Instant Messages or Push Notifications.

Users also have more visibility of the Push Notifications they receive. They are now stored in-app unless deleted and stay on the app home screen until read.

New features

New features included in the new version of WolMobile which were not previously available include:

  • Auto sign-in/out.
  • SOS button.
  • Advanced security features.
  • Multiple accounts.
  • Mailbox for managing push notifications.
  • Answer review

App interface

A simple, one page, interface with limited usability. There was an option for sign in/out, and geolocation options.

The entire app interface has been rebuilt and is completely different.

Is a more complex interface with three main pages; home page, sign in page, and settings.

Each of these pages has various functions, features, and settings.

For full details, please review the various Help articles on how to use WolMobile.

How users are invited to use WolMobile

This is the exact same between the two different versions. We haven’t made any changes to this. How users log into the app has changed, but that is from the user perspective.
