Printing an ID Card

How to print ID cards without using a print request. User role required to access this setting: Identity Manager.

There are two ways your ID cards can be printed: by an Identity Manager directly or by print request sending to your central printing point for processing.

This article covers Identity Manager printing. Click here for details on how to print as a Location Print Manager from a print request.

As an Identity Manager you can print ID cards manually or in bulk. This requires the correct hardware, an ID card template, and the ID card tokens added to people’s profiles.

ID card printing works by creating an online PDF of the ID card and then sending to your ID card printer. This method allows you to print an ID card from any computer and browser, including computers with multiple printers installed.

Each browser has a different printing method as this uses the browser’s native printing functions. Further details are listed below.

Please Note: Your printer will need to have its settings configured prior to printing. These settings will depend on your printer and, because most ID card printers are compatible, we are unable to provide an exact guide for this setup.
