About printing ID cards

MRI OnLocation enables you to create your ID cards for employees and contractors based on our tID card template options. These can include a barcode or QR code that can be scanned to sign in/out.

How it works

There are three steps to creating and printing ID cards:

  1. Create ID card template(s).
  2. Add tokens to employees and/or contractors.
  3. Print your ID cards – you can either print them yourself or send print requests to another location with an ID card printer.

Step 1: Create ID card templates

Your account has several pre-formatted templates which can be customized. Templates can be created for employees and/or contractors, and you can set up as many different templates as required. The information is dynamically generated for individual ID cards.

Step 2: Add tokens to employees and contractors

ID cards are printed using the token number added against an employee or contractor's profile. Before printing, tokens must be added to the profile.

Each ID card template is linked to a specific token type, so when adding tokens to profiles, you must ensure you use the correct token type.

Step 3: Print your ID cards

You can print ID cards on any printer that supports printing CR80 cards.

CR80 cards have the dimensions of 2.13" x 3.38" (54mm x 86mm) and are the most commonly used ID cards worldwide. CR80 cards are compatible with a wide range of ID card printers.

There are options for printing from your own computer or to send a tracked print request to a central printing point at another location for processing.
