Assign the safety operator role

Learn how to assign the safety operator role to an employee or contract. You need the Administrator or Contractor Manager user role to access these settings.

About the role

A safety operator is someone nominated to monitor any employees or contractors working alone in your location. The safety operator is notified when the person arrives on-site and for how long. If they don't sign out on time, the safety operator will be notified that they are overdue.

The role can be assigned to any employee or contractor member.

Assign an employee the safety operator role

  1. Go to Locations, then select the location from the drop-down list.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Click View next to the employee's name.
  4. Select Safety Operator from the Employee Role Type list.

  5. Click Save & Close.
Clear the Safety Operator role checkbox in their profile to remove the role, then save.

Assign a contractor member the safety operator role

  1. Go to Tools > Contractor Manager.
  2. Select Members from the menu on the left side.
  3. Find the member, then click View next to their name.
  4. Select Organizations from the menu on the left side.
  5. Click Organization Roles.

  6. Select Safety Operator, then click Close.

Clear the Safety Operator role checkbox in their organization roles list to remove the role, then close.
