Sign in/out kiosk mode

Configure the kiosk mode for a sign in/out kiosk. You must have the Administrator user role to access these settings.

How it works

The kiosk mode is used to set up which people types can use this kiosk and configure settings specific to each type. Settings include badge pass templates, greetings, zone selection options, and more.

The service provider option is only available if that add-on is enabled. The deliveries option is not available for inter-zone kiosks.

To access the Mode for existing kiosks:

  1. Go to Tools > Locations.
  2. Click View next to your location.
  3. Select Sign In/Out Kiosks from the left-hand menu.
  4. Click View next to your kiosk.
  5. Select the Mode tab.

There are four person types you can enable and configure; Visitors, Employees, Deliveries, and Service Providers; select all options you want to enable on this kiosk. When an option is selected, the section to configure their settings will appear.

The options to activate deliveries and badge pass templates are not available on inter-zone kiosks.

Visitors

Visitor fields include: 

  • Pre-Registered Visitors Only – This will restrict visitor access to this kiosk only to visitors who have been pre-registered before coming on-site. Any walk-in visitors will be shown your customized message which appears when this option is selected.
  • Kiosk Returning Visitors Search – The length of time that a visitor who has been on-site previously will have their details stored for the next visit. If the visitor comes back on-site within the chosen period, the answers to your basic sign in questions will be remembered. The organization question must be enabled in questionnaire manager to use this feature. If an organization is not entered by the visitor, it cannot be remembered.
  • Visitor Sign Out Options – The strength of security for visitors signing out manually through this kiosk. You can set this to Require Exact Match Full Name which means they have to enter their full name, or Require Exact Match First Name or Last Name which means they only have to enter either their first or last name and can then choose themselves from a list to sign out.
  • Visitor Greeting – Choose the Welcome Greeting that will be displayed for visitors when they sign in or select None if you do not want to display a greeting. You can customize these in the Welcome Greetings section of your location.

  • Visitor Area/Zone Selection – Activate to ask your visitor to choose which zone they are signing into at the start of their sign in process. Their chosen zone will determine which rules are applied to their sign in. If this is not enabled, the visitor will either be signed into the default zone for the kiosk LACP or their host’s assigned zone, depending on your zone rules.

  • Visitor Area/Zone Other – Allow visitors to enter the zone they are visiting as a free-text field. ‘Other’ zones will use the kiosk rules for ‘Any Zone’.

Service providers

Service provider fields include: 

  • Service Provider Greeting – Choose the Welcome Greeting that will be displayed for service providers when they sign in or select None if you do not want to display a greeting. You can customize these in the Welcome Greetings section of your location.
  • Service Provider Area/Zone Selection – Activate to ask your service provider to choose which zone they are signing into at the start of their sign in process. Their chosen zone will determine which rules are applied to their sign in. If this is not enabled, the service provider will either be signed into the default zone for the kiosk LACP or their host’s assigned zone, depending on your zone rules.
  • Service Provider Area/Zone Other – Allow service providers to enter the zone they are visiting as a free-text field. ‘Other’ zones will use the kiosk rules for ‘Any Zone’.
  • Service Provider Token Scan – Enable to present the Area/Zone Selection for service providers when scanning a token to sign in. This step will be skipped if not enabled allowing for fast sign in for service providers if required.

Employees

Employee fields include:

  • Employee Area/Zone Selection – Activate to ask your employee to choose which zone they are signing into at the start of their sign in process. Their chosen zone will determine which rules are applied to their sign in. If this is not enabled, the employee will either be signed into the default zone for the kiosk LACP or the zone in their profile, depending on your zone rules.
  • Employee Token Scan – Enable to present the Area/Zone Selection for employees when scanning a token to sign in. This step will be skipped if not enabled allowing for fast sign in for employees if required.
  • Employee Area/Zone Other – Allow employees to enter the zone they are entering as a free-text field. ‘Other’ zones will use the kiosk rules for ‘Any Zone’.

Deliveries

Deliveries options are not configured in this tab because they require a more complex setup. Enabling Deliveries in this section will create a new tab for Deliveries.
