Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A supported mobile device. OnLocation Mobile has been designed for iPhones running iOS 10 and above, and Android phones running Android 5.0 and above.
- Downloaded and added the OnLocation Mobile app from the Apple or Google Play store.
- Received a unique link and code for your location via email or SMS from the Administrator of your MRI OnLocation account.
- Have your unique code ready for your first log-in.
The first time you log in
Open the OnLocation Mobile app and enter your unique code either automatically via the link or manually.
Click Continue from the welcome screen, then you will be taken through a quick welcoming guide with some helpful tips on using OnLocation Mobile, scroll through these and tap Continue at the end.
Proceed through these steps to complete the app setup including granting permissions and setting up security:
iPhone
- Enable Location permissions. This lets you use geolocation features, e.g. automatic sign in/out and SOS notifications. Set to Always (iOS 14) to use without having to open your app.

- Enable Notification permissions. This lets you receive push notifications for visitor arrivals, important notices and signing in/out. You will go through the security setup.
- Tap OK and enter a PIN, then re-enter it.
- Tap OK on the Enable Touch ID or Face ID pop-up. This adds your smartphone’s security settings to the app.
- Scan your fingerprint or face to set up advanced security.
Android
- Tap to turn on location permissions. This will be used for the app’s geolocation features, e.g. automatic sign in/out and SOS notifications.
If you don't need to use the geolocation features, tap Skip.

- Tap Allow. Push notification permissions will be enabled by default. You will now go through the security setup.
- Click OK on the Set up PIN code pop-up.
- Create a PIN for basic security.
- Re-enter your PIN.
- Tap OK on the Set up Biometric Unlock pop-up. This adds your smartphone’s security settings to the app.
- Enter your advanced security setting, e.g. scan your fingerprint, enter your phone password, scan your retina.
- A pop-up will ask to access your device's photos, media, and files. Tap Allow. This setting enables you to upload files when submitting a support ticket from the app.
For improved location accuracy, OnLocation Mobile will ask you to turn off battery optimization:
- Tap Go To Settings. Apps not optimized will be showing by default.
- Tap this drop-down and select All Apps.
- Search for OnLocation Mobile.
- Use the switch to turn off optimization.
- Tap the back icon to return to OnLocation Mobile.
You are now logged into OnLocation Mobile and ready to sign in/out of locations you have access to for this account.
Multiple accounts
If you work for more than one organization using OnLocation Mobile for sign in/out, you may need to add additional accounts to the app. Each organization will provide you with a unique account code that is specific to that organization.
Add additional accounts
You can add a OnLocation Mobile account automatically if you open the link sent to you via email and or SMS with your code on your phone.
If you no longer have the text or email but know your code:
- Tap the profile icon in the top-left of the home screen.
- Tap Manage Account.
- Tap Add account.
- Enter the 6-digit unique code you have been sent.
The code will be verified and the account added to your app.
Changing accounts
If you’re working for different organizations, e.g. you are a plumber for ABC Plumbing and your company contracts to two organizations, My Company Inc and Acme Ltd; you will need to select the organization you are visiting before you can sign into their locations.
The account you have currently selected will display at the top of the app.
To change accounts:
- Tap the profile icon in the top-left of the home screen.
- Tap Manage Account.
- Select a different account.
- Tap the back icon in the top-left to return to the settings.
