Allow access to your kiosk's camera

If your kiosk runs on a web browser, learn how to allow access to the camera so the kiosk can capture photos on sign-in. You need access to your computer or tablet system settings to set this up.

About photo capture

Photo capture is a great way to give added security to employees, contractors, and visitors signing in to your location. Before your kiosk will take photos, you need to allow your browser to access the web camera.

Supported browsers include Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.

If you are using an iPad kiosk you need to download the OnLocation Kiosk app, Safari is not supported. You do not need to set up the camera if using OnLocation Kiosk, the iPad camera will work automatically.

Before you start

These steps must be completed before you can set up your browser to access your web camera:

Step 1: Test the camera in the kiosk

  1. Log in to your kiosk.
  2. Click the settings icon, then select Kiosk Settings.

  3. Enter the Kiosk PIN.
  4. Select Test Webcam.

The next steps depend on the browser you are using, they should only need to be completed once. Your browser should remember the settings you are about to apply for all future photo capture events. If your history is cleared at any point you may need to re-apply these steps.

Step 2: Allow access in your browser
